Post Baby Post #1

You think, “I’m going to be on maternity leave so I’ll have plenty of time to post amazing bits of thoughtfulness.” Ah, so silly. While baby number three’s maternity leave is nothing like that of baby number one … there’s a whole heck of a lot less oggling over the little one and smelling the baby smell and sleeping while he sleeps, and a whole lot more getting shit done … it’s still oftentimes a challenge to get things you want to do done (versus all those darn needs).
However, it’s time. The newest little one is now well over (as in two days past) three weeks old and life has largely returned to normal … save the whole not-working thing.
I’m entrenched in the nuances of the car line at preschool and can now make conversation with those stay-at-home moms that only a month ago seemed like creatures from a different planet. Hell, I even organized a play date last weekend … Thank you, thank you very much.
And today, we took another step towards normalcy … I actually ran some during my daily treadmill walk. “Hallelujah, praise the …” you get the idea. It wasn’t far or fast but it was less like walking than it was like running so it totally counts.
Now if only my eyes weren’t so tired, so I could stay up as late as my oldest two and still be able to chill with the little nugget from 2-4AM.
